Amricama : Bideshiyeka Nepali ko katha

August 3rd, 2008 3 comments

In my last post, I presented a video that illustrated how people were forced to leave their home due to the armed conflict. This post is in a way the remaining part of the story: what is the life like after they leave their home? As many of us now know, it is not as enjoyable as we thought it would be.

Amricama is a song composed by Madan Krishna Shrestha and sung by his son Yaman Shrestha. I first discovered this song at merovideo.com about a year ago but merovideo.com was hacked by some Iranian hackers (it is still under the hackers control). After receiving an impressive response from readers, I spent some time looking for some other source for the song. I found it finally and it’s here for you in today’s post.

The video is funny with some kids dancing throughout the video. The song however is heart touching (despite the lightness of the lyrics) as it reflects nepali people’s problems in the foreign land.

Here is the video for you. I would really appreciate your opinion about the video as that would help me choose the content for my next post.

Enjoy!

Gaun Chhodda – A heart touching animation by Nepali artists

August 2nd, 2008 5 comments

In my very first post “The idea behind”, I mentioned that Rangeen Chara is for people who left their country for a variety of reasons. The reasons are many but the conflict in the country definetly played some role in a way or another.

I came across this animated video that beautifully illustrates how people have been forced to leave their home during the conflict. Sanyukta Shrestha and Niyukta Shrestha are the animators while Mansoe Singh composed the music.

Your comments would definetly encourage the team to do better.

Enjoy !
